MWS Fantasy Baseball: A preview of Kid Cudi’s debut

Kid Cudi: Man on the Moon comes out Sept. 15.

Kid Cudi: Man on the Moon comes out Sept. 15.

Over the past week there has been a flurry of activity from the rap front, particularly from Kid Cudi and Jay-Z. First, Hov dropped four songs: “Run this town” feat. Rihanna and Kanye West (the video is fantastic), “We Off That” feat. Drake, “The Reminder”, and my personal favorite “Venus vs. Mars”. The songs are all pretty good, but “Venus vs. Mars” is classic Jay-Z wordplay, the kind that makes you want to rewind the track and listen to certain lines again just to make sure you heard exactly what you thought you heard.

However, the big Cudi0related news is that his track listing was dropped and needless to say, the current MWS 1st round pick is looking good. Via Nah Right:

ACT 1 – THE END OF DAY:
1. In My Dreams (Cudder anthem) Produced by Emile
2. Soundtrack 2 My Life Produced by Emile
3. Simple as…* Produced by Plain Pat
ACT 2 – RISE OF THE NIGHT TERROR:
4. Solo Dolo (nightmare) Produced by Emile
5. Heart of a Lion (KiD CuDi Theme Music) Produced by Free School
6. My World Feat. Bill Cravens Produced by Plain Pat, Jeff Bhasker

ACT 3: TAKING A TRIP
7. Day N Nite Produced by Dot Da Genius
8. Sky Might Fall Produced by Kanye West/Co-Produced by Kid Cudi
9. Enter Galactic Produced by Mat Friedman of ILLFONICS

ACT 4 – STUCK:
10. Alive (nightmare) Feat. RATATAT Produced by RATATAT
11. Cudi Zone Produced by Emile
12. Make Her Say Produced by Kanye West
13. Pursuit of Happiness (nightmare) Feat. MGMT & RATATAT Produced by RATATAT

ACT 5 – A NEW BEGINNING
14. Hyyer Feat. Chip The Ripper Produced by Crada for Motion Music
15. Up Up & Away Produced by Free School

While I’m not excited that the two Kanye-produced songs are songs I have already heard (hopefully they’ll remaster “Sky Might Fall”), I am incredibly amped up for Ratatat and MGMT to be featured on the album. Plain Pat and Emile are responsible for Cudi’s incredibly successful mixtape, so it looks like they’ll be able to continue the trend of G.O.O.D. Music.

The album (and yes, that’s the album cover up top) drops September 15th. And right now, until I see a track listing from Lupe Fiasco for Lasers, I’m going to say my ranking for “Album I want to hear most” is 1. Kid Cudi 2. Jay-Z 3. Lupe Fiasco.
